Wind Resistance

Recent weather patterns have brought high winds to many areas of our country, not just coastal areas. Some homeowners report persistent wind-related roof issues while others just worry each time a storm blows through. The problem with most residential roofing materials is that they depend upon gravity (weight) or failure-prone sealants to hold them to the roof. Even very heavy tile roofs are notorious for letting loose in severe storms, becoming damaging and life-threatening projectiles as they fly through the air.

Metal roof systems have an entirely different premise when it comes to wind resistance. Rather than just having products stacked together, quality metal roofs have strong interlocks from one panel to the next. The highest quality ones have concealed fasteners as well.
